ELEMENTARY
WKK Elementary is a FUN and EXCITING place to be as the children set out on a new adventure in learning. We offer smaller class sizes, our student to teacher ratio is 16 to 1, allowing for more individualized and one on one teaching opportunities. As a result of smaller class sizes, we are able to keep the students challenged based on where they are academically. If your child has not previously been a part of our program, they will still be able to succeed in our kindergarten program! The information is reintroduced at the beginning of the year in an effort to allow those who are new to our program to be introduced to the foundational concepts of learning. Before and after school care is included with this program.
Bible
Bible time consists of Bible stories, singing and Bible memorization. The Bible activity book correlates with the Abeka/BJU bible curriculum helping to reinforce the Bible truths the children are learning.
Phonics
Phonics is an exciting time! They are learning to read and continuing to build on the foundation of phonetics taught in our four year old program. The information will be reintroduced in an effort to review for those who have been in our program and will allow those who are new to our program to be introduced to the foundational concepts of learning to read.
English
Handwriting is incorporated and as each letter is introduced in phonics, they learn to write the letters of the alphabet as well as special sounds, word, and sentences. Learning to write numbers is equally exciting as they are learning number recognition, concept, and formation.
Math
The children learn the concept and formation of 1-100, simple addition and subtraction, telling time, number sequences, number words and working with money.
Science
The students will be learning about “God’s World” and His plan for seeds, animals, the seashore, health, weather, and season with the help of a colorful science book.
Social Studies
Social Studies will help students to learn about community helpers, The United States of America, and children of 10 different countries.
Electives & Clubs
Currently WKK offers Art and ASL as extracurriculars to our Elementary students. We are excited to add after school clubs this coming school year!
