Preschool- K4

Our goal is to prepare our students for the adventure of kindergarten and encourage them to have a love for learning. The children are engaged in phonics, math, writing, art projects, and music. This variety of activities helps provide a balanced day of activities and experiences that appeal to every kind of learner. Pre-Kindergarten is an important time for a child as they enter their final year of pre-school and begin a never ending experience of learning.
Phonics
A lively academic program for 4 year old's gives children an enjoyable educational foundation in phonics and a desire to learn more. Children learn to identify letters and the sounds they make. The carefully sequenced activities in recognition, sound, and formation of vowels (long and short), consonants, consonant-vowel blends and one-syllable words with one or two vowels make learning to read fun.
Numbers
Number recognition and concepts are introduced with the formation of number 1-20, they enjoy counting 1-100, and coloring the familiar objects for each number and forming those numbers.
Writing
The children learn to write their letters as they begin to recognize and sound them out. Tracing exercises are provided to practice proper formation of their letters. Writing provides review of their phonic sounds. In addition to writing letters they also learn to write their numbers, as well as their fist and last names.
Art Projects
Art is designed to develop motor skills needed to draw, cut, color, glue, develop writing readiness, hand-eye coordination, visual perception and listening and thinking skills. There are month-by-month projects that are correlated with academics, bible teachings and the seasons.
