Two Year Olds- K2

Our two year old's are learning to understand their feelings and how to interact and play with others. They become independent as they practice age appropriate self-help skills and make choices about their play.
On a daily basis, children are part of learning activities that focus on language, science, math, and exploration. We include phonics in our day, as they are learning to recognize their letters and the sounds that those letters make with games and activities that promote learning. Numbers are also included in that learning scope, the children learn to count and recognize numbers along with the introduction of number concepts. Included in that fun learning experience is sorting, counting, marching to music, and painting. We learn our colors and shapes and do projects with them that help to develop hand/eye coordination.
We help the children build language skills by engaging them in conversation, asking questions, and reading a variety of books to our students. We continue to assist them in their quest for independence by fostering other life skills such as learning to dress themselves and helping to put away their things.
The child to teacher ratio is 8 to 1, with 8 being the maximum class size. Each child receives a daily report indicating how they did that day. It informs parents on diaper changing and potty training progress.
